On May 16th 2015 I climbed the four highest peaks in the Lake District in 24 hours. It was an exhausting, exhilerating, amazing challenge and I am over the moon about the amount of sponsorship I have raised in Ian's memory, for Mind.

I am Ian's sister, Louise.

I have been selected to take part in Mind 3000s - a crazy challenge where 2 teams of 24, each lead by a celebrity Mind ambassador, trek in some of the toughest landscapes in the UK.  Team Wales will trek a distance of 50km of the highest peaks in Wales, including Snowdon, over a period of 24 hours.  Team England - my team - will tackle the four highest peaks in the Lake District - Skidaw, Hellvelyn, Scafell and Scafell Pike, again all over 3000ft, a distance of 50km, over a period of 24 hours.

I have never done anything like this before and really need your support to get my arse in gear! I am doing this in memory of my lovely big brother, who battled his depression for as long as he could, but ultimately felt he had to leave, and took his own life.  I watched him struggle with his depression for 8 years and I helped in every way I could, but it wasn't enough.  I miss him everyday. He loved walking, and the Lake District, and he will be very strongly in my heart and mind during my training and the challenge itself. I also know he would find it funny that I was undertaking something like this as, like he once said to me 'you used to be such an unhealthy old sow'! Brotherly love.
