In memory of Ian Paul Carter

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page in memory of our dear Ian.
Ian was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend. He was one in a million and is missed dreadfully by many people. His unique character, ridiculous sense of humour and charisma are irreplacable. We carry on now with an Ian shaped hole in our lives.

Having suffered with depression for a number of years, Ian's battle with his illness ended on September 12th 2011 when he took his own life. As a family we feel it is vital to acknowledge Ian's depression, as mental health issues are still such a taboo subject in society. We want to encourage openness and realism about the situation, rather than shroud it in secrecy and shame.

'Mind' is a fantastic charity which works hard to tackle the stigma surrounding mental health issues, raise awareness and promote understanding. It provides invaluable support, advice and information to people who suffer from mental illness and their families. It also works hard to campaign, lobby and fight for equality and rights for those with mental health difficulties.

'Mind' is a truly fitting charity to support as a tribute to Ian. As well as suffering from depression himself, he was an Occupational Therapist working in mental health services. He demonstrated empathy, passion and skill when working with service users.

We would like to raise as much money as we can for 'Mind', in memory of our precious Ian. Please help us to do this. If you want to do something sponsored in order to raise some money or just give a donation in memory of Ian, it can be done through this page. Please feel free to share the link.
