Outline of the week
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and Monday 10th – Friday 15th is the official Mental Health Awareness week so Premier’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Team have a week packed with interesting stuff!
This year’s Mental Health Awareness theme is nature and the environment.
Based on this theme (and some research into some of the most prevalent mental health issues in the UK) the team have focused on two areas:
- How our working environment is about to change and the anxieties that might surround that – Social Anxiety Disorder
- Actual nature and how it makes us feel – Seasonal Affective Disorder
MONDAY 9.45am:
1) ‘Stand up to Stigma’ zoom call to get us all in the right frame of mind and show each other that we welcome discussions. (We intentionally choose 9.45am because it’ll make you take a breather from the Monday morning madness!)
In this 15 minute zoom call, there will be a very brief ppt about what Mental Health actually is, then, for every person who stands up to take a 1 minute breather, Premier will donate £5 to MIND. The more people on the call, the more money we raise – simples we’d like to encourage everyone to wear something green for the day too – this is Mental Health England’s colour of choice.
2) There will also be a list of recommended movies that shine a light on some Mental Health issues
3) IT have kindly sorted our email signatures to contain the Mental Health England ribbon for the week
TUESDAY:
A focus on Social Anxiety Disorder
WEDNESDAY:
A focus on Seasonal Affective Disorder
Green Yoga - If you attend yoga wearing something green, Premier will donate another £5pp to MIND
THURSDAY:
A focus on Nature and its benefits
FRIDAY:
Wine Down 4.30pm
Winston never fails to put a positive spin on things and we’ve hijacked Girish & Rob’s Friday photo competition with a theme of ‘what makes you feel good’ bonus points if you are wearing green in the photo, or if the photo encompasses some sort of nature/environment!
