Ian was my brother in law and tragically took his own life last year having suffered with his mental health.  In my work as a GP I encounter patients  with mental illness on a daily basis.  The local Mind Centre provides excellent support, however, could do even more if resources were more plentiful. 

Professionally and personally I am therefore passionate about raising money for such a worthy cause.  I am runnning the Dartmoor Discovery which is 32 mile ultramarathon across challenging terrain.  This will stretch me physically and mentally.  I hope my commitment to this race will encourage you to donate to a charity which helps people like Ian.
