If you are visiting this page then it is quite likely that I have photographed you or someone you love. I hope I have created something very special for you. 

I met Gemma when we were both 9, younger than my youngest son is now. Thats a lot of memories. We were arty at school but it was much later in life that we both discovered a shared passion for photography. We would spend hours out walking, shooting our dogs or our boys, comparing camera settings or techniques before rushing home to edit our images and send them to each other.

Of course I knew Gemma had suffered with depression but she hid it well. She would talk about her struggles but only retrospectively, never in the moment. The last time I saw her we talked and made plans for Christmas. Plans that mainly involved drinking vodka and dancing on the tables.

Following Gemmas death I have many regrets, so many things I wish I'd done differently but the biggy is not making sure we got that last dance in. I should have made it happen.

There is nothing I can change about that but there is something I can do to help other people who are struggling with life for whatever reason. Which is why I am using my skills as a photographer in Gemmas memory.
