I am a photography student in my third and final year at Northampton University and wanted to do something really special for my final major project. Since leaving Cornwall to study, my photography style has changed a lot and I love looking back at Cornwall. Each year I have done a project relating to Cornwall and have been taking a lot more landscapes so for this project I really wanted to focus on the beaches all around Cornwall.

I was informed there is a coastal path covering the entire coast of Cornwall, which would allow me to see all of the beaches. I then thought it also makes a great challenge to raise money for Mind.

I chose Mind as the charity I'd like to fundraise for because of my Auntie Debra who sadly died in July 2012. She suffered from mental health issues for many years but continued to work and volunteer to help others, including volunteering for Mind. She asked for her ashes to be scattered off the coast in Cornwall so I feel like walking the coast is a great thing to do in her memory.

I took my first photographs for this project on 15/09/2013 in Saltash of the bridge, signifying entering Cornwall. This is an important place for me as I am always travelling from Northampton to Cornwall and crossing the bridge. The walk will begin in Cawsand in October and will be done in sections during the times I visit Cornwall from University. The walk will end in Bude, making it 283 miles plus I plan on visiting the Isles of Scilly to walk around St Mary's (10 miles).

I will be posting updates and photographs on my Facebook photography page so you can see my journey, which should hopefully be complete by March. I will then exhibit the photographs in my degree show and donate a percentage of any sales to Mind.
