Hello!

In May this year I, along with the other 'Jessie's Riders', will be cycling 283 miles from London to Amsterdam to raise lots of  money for the wonderful mental health charity, Mind.

Back in November, my good friend Rich asked me if I wanted to do the bike ride with him. The ride would be in memory of his cousin Jessica who sadly passed away and would be to celebrate what would have been her 30th birthday in May.

Having just got my new shiny bike and somewhat overconfident in my cycling abilities, I said yes without any hesitation. It was only after, that I thought 'What on earth have I signed myself up for!?'. After many encouraging emails from Jessie's mum, Cath, and chats with Rich, I knew it was something that I had to and wanted to complete.

This is my first cycling challenge, and trust me, this is going to be a monumental challenge for me! The phrase, thrown in the deep end comes to mind. But those who know me will know my determination, and Kat-can-do attitude will see me through to the end of the 283 mile route! The fact that I am doing this to raise money for Mind and supporting my friend and his family is the motivation I need.

In an increasingly busy world with distractions everywhere and pressure from social media, it is very easy to forget to look after your mental health. With 1 in 4 of us experiencing mental health issues at some point, it is so important to start talking about it and providing support to those in need. Mind does this amazing work and is helping raise awareness and understanding of mental health issues and providing life changing support for people.  

The way I want to support Mind is by raising a minimum of £1000. Please help me in my mission!!
