welcome to my fundraising page.

My name is Chris, its with great pleasure that I have decided to do the London -Amsterdam bike ride 30th May - 2nd June 2018 for the charity Mind in memory of the beautiful and vibrant Jessica Davies. 2018 would have been Jessica’s 30th birthday so I’m proud to be joining the ride to raise money to support mental health awareness.

Those that have known me for years (and those that don’t do now😊) my background in sport is from athletics (running) and this is where I met Cath, her late husband Lyn, Jo Emma, Rhea and Jess. Living in ludgershall at that time gave me the opportunity to support Emma on her long runs ready for the Commonwealth Games and this gave Jess the opportunity to take the mickey out of me, mainly about my sweaty body or the fact I didn’t have hairy legs,!!

The loss of Jess was a great shock to all who knew and loved her, and with mental illness and the stigma that surrounds it, I am hoping that I can not just raise money but also awareness. I know this ride is going to be tough but enjoyable at the same time, having not run for at least 17 years, this will also be an opportunity for me to raise money for a great cause and ......to lose some serious weight and regain some fitness
