Three Peaks Challenge

I did it on 21st July! In twelve hours, I walked twenty-five miles and scrambled up 5,300 aggregated feet of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent. Thanks to Ben Coleman and his family for organising the walk, as well as James Geary for accompanying along the way. Both were dear friends of Ian from his band, Phud, at univeristy in Lancaster. Great day! Great memories! Great friends! Thanks to Barry and Becky for your prayers and the lunch on the way up on 20th! More great friends!

I am Ian's father. Walking was an interest which we shared and which was very special, especially in recent years, when we undertook walks in Yorkshire and the Lake District, scaling peaks such as Ingleborough, Old Man of Coniston and Helvellyn. We enjoyed some deep conversations about life issues during these walks and it is fitting that I accompanied some friends on the Three Peaks (Whernside, Ingleborough, Pen-y-ghent) this year. It brought back great memories of our much-loved son, as well as raising useful funds for our chosen charity, 'Mind.' Please give generously.
